Working as a Civil Engineer for over 12 years, it looked like my life plan was a Success, but I could feel something still missing. This is the short version of my personal journey to find what would make me feel whole...
I took many classes, read many books, watched so many YouTube videos, and continued to try new things looking for anything that would spark something in me.
A friend suggested Reiki to me. I was very skeptical as an engineer with years of logical thinking, I couldn't see how it worked. I’ve always been the “I'll believe it, when I see it” type of person, so I didn't understand.
But I signed up for a 21 days to opening your psychic ability class on Facebook. It talked about trusting the process, being more aware, learning to trust myself. It was the first time I allowed myself to lean in and try something that was so far out of my comfort zone.
The next group I joined was all about being authentic and digging deep into the root of why I was feeling certain ways. I wasn't quite ready to answer all of these questions yet, but I went through the motions and still learned so much about myself.
The next course changed everything for me. The irony doesn't elude me at this point, but I signed up for what I thought was a self help course on how to “heal” yourself. I love that the message is heal yourself, heal others, heal the world. All I'd ever wanted to do was help others, so the idea that working on myself first would help, convinced me. Long story a little shorter, this was an energy healing course. LOL! Not Reiki, but a different modality of energy healing. I'm a good student, so I did all the work going through the motions, but having no clue what I signed up for.
I was so nervous to go to the live event. I hadn't interacted with anyone in the group yet, so I was going in completely blind. I traveled from South Carolina to Sedona, Arizona. On the flight I was upgraded to a seat with more legroom, my rental car was upgraded to an awesome SUV and my hotel was so nice. Things were just working so smooth.
Angel Valley retreat center was so beautiful. I stayed in a cabin with the person who I now refer to as my soul sister. :) I was so grateful she knew what she signed up for and was so willing to answer all my questions and share her knowledge with me… even if I had to Google some of it later... this live event was when I finally got to try energy healing on another person and see if it really worked. Guess what, it did.
The information the ‘client’ told me about what they experienced was so spot on with what I did I was amazed. I still couldn't see it, but I was starting to believe it anyways. Skip ahead through many remote practice healings for my certification, meeting people outside of the group, and hearing their experiences made me believe in myself even more. I could do this and I was helping these people. There was no going back only moving forward, What else could I learn? I needed to keep growing and learning, so I could help more people. So that's what I did and what I hope to always do. There is always more to learn.
